11th August 2026: Yamaha Music India has announced the Top 20 shortlisted bands for Teens Rock – The Battle of Bands 2026, its flagship national band competition for young musicians. Following an overwhelming response from schools and music academies across the country, the shortlisted bands will now move on to the offline round, while public voting officially opens today.
Powered by Trinity College London, the 2026 edition attracted 680+ registrations, resulting in 270+ video submissions. With entries received from every region of the country, Teens Rock has reinforced its position as a truly pan-India platform for emerging musical talent.
The shortlisted 20 bands will now compete in the offline round, from which 5 bands will be selected for the Grand Finale. In addition, 1 band will earn a direct spot through public voting, taking the total number of finalists to 6. The finalists will get an opportunity to perform before music icon Mr. A. R. Rahman at the Grand Finale in Bengaluru and an esteemed jury featuring renowned musicians Mr. Ranjit Barot, Mr. Gulraj Singh, and Mr. Rhythm Shaw.
Public voting opens today, 10th August 2026, and will remain open until 5th September 2026 through a dedicated voting platform. Music enthusiasts, friends, families and supporters from across the country can vote for their favourite band and help them secure a place to perform in the Grand Finale.
